1. By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; |
وَالنَّازِعَاتِ غَرْقًا Vennazi’ati ğarken. |
وَالنَّاشِطَاتِ نَشْطًا Vennaşitati neştan. |
|
وَالسَّابِحَاتِ سَبْحًا Vessabihati sebhan. |
|
فَالسَّابِقَاتِ سَبْقًا Fessabikati sebkan. |
|
فَالْمُدَبِّرَاتِ أَمْرًا Felmudebbirati emren. |
|
6. One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, |
يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ الرَّاجِفَةُ Yevme tercufurracifetu. |
تَتْبَعُهَا الرَّادِفَةُ Tetbe’uherradifetu. |
|
قُلُوبٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاجِفَةٌ Kulubun yevmeizin vacifetun. |
|
أَبْصَارُهَا خَاشِعَةٌ Ebsaruha haşi’atun. |
|
10. They say (now) "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? |
يَقُولُونَ أَإِنَّا لَمَرْدُودُونَ فِي الْحَافِرَةِ Yekulune einna lemerdudune fiylhafireti. |
أَإِذَا كُنَّا عِظَامًا نَخِرَةً Eiza kunna ’ızamen nehıreten. |
|
12. They say "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" |
قَالُوا تِلْكَ إِذًا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌ Kalu tilke izen kerretun hasiretun. |
فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ زَجْرَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ Feinnema hiye zecretun vahıdetun. |

14. When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). |
فَإِذَا هُمْ بِالسَّاهِرَةِ Feiza hum bissahireti. |
هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰ Hel etake hadiysu musa. |
|
16. Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa- |
إِذْ نَادَاهُ رَبُّهُ بِالْوَادِ الْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى İz nadahu rabbuhu bilvadilmukaddesi tuven. |
17. "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds |
اذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُ طَغَىٰ İzheb ila fir’avne innehu tağa. |
18. "And say to him, ´Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- |
فَقُلْ هَلْ لَكَ إِلَىٰ أَنْ تَزَكَّىٰ Fekul hel leke ila en tezekka. |
19. "´And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?´" |
وَأَهْدِيَكَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخْشَىٰ Ve ehdiyeke ila rabbike fetahşa. |
فَأَرَاهُ الْآيَةَ الْكُبْرَىٰ Feerahul’ayetelkubra. |
|
فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ Fekezzebe ve ’asa. |
|
22. Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). |
ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ يَسْعَىٰ Summe edbere yes’a. |
فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰ Fehaşere fenada. |
|
فَقَالَ أَنَا رَبُّكُمُ الْأَعْلَىٰ Fekale ene rabbukumul’a’la. |
|
25. But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. |
فَأَخَذَهُ اللَّهُ نَكَالَ الْآخِرَةِ وَالْأُولَىٰ Feehazehullahu nekalel’ahıreti vel’ula. |
26. Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). |
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِمَنْ يَخْشَىٰ İnne fiy zalike le’ubreten limen yahşa. |
27. What! Are ye the more difficult to create or the heaven (above)? (Allah) hath constructed it |
أَأَنْتُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَمِ السَّمَاءُ ۚ بَنَاهَا Eentum eşeddu halkan emissema’u benaha. |
28. On high hath He raised its canopy, and He hath given it order and perfection. |
رَفَعَ سَمْكَهَا فَسَوَّاهَا Refe’a semkeha fesevvaha. |
29. Its night doth He endow with darkness, and its splendour doth He bring out (with light). |
وَأَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَأَخْرَجَ ضُحَاهَا Ve ağtaşe leyleha ve ahrece duhaha. |
30. And the earth, moreover, hath He extended (to a wide expanse); |
وَالْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَاهَا Vel’arda ba’de zalike dehaha. |
أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَاءَهَا وَمَرْعَاهَا Ahrece minha aeha ve mer’aha. |
|
وَالْجِبَالَ أَرْسَاهَا Velcibale ersaha. |
|
مَتَاعًا لَكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَامِكُمْ Meta’an lekum ve lien’amikum. |
|
34. Therefore, when there comes the great, overwhelming (Event),- |
فَإِذَا جَاءَتِ الطَّامَّةُ الْكُبْرَىٰ Feiza caetittammetulkubra. |
35. The Day when man shall remember (all) that he strove for, |
يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ الْإِنْسَانُ مَا سَعَىٰ Yevme yetezekkerul’insanu ma se’a. |
36. And Hell-Fire shall be placed in full view for (all) to see,- |
وَبُرِّزَتِ الْجَحِيمُ لِمَنْ يَرَىٰ Ve burrizetilcehıymu limen yera. |
فَأَمَّا مَنْ طَغَىٰ Feemma men tağa. |
|
وَآثَرَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا Ve aserelhayateddunya. |
|
فَإِنَّ الْجَحِيمَ هِيَ الْمَأْوَىٰ Feinnelcahıyme hiyelme’va. |
|
وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ وَنَهَى النَّفْسَ عَنِ الْهَوَىٰ Ve emma men hafe mekame rabbihi ve nehennefse ’anilheva. |
|
فَإِنَّ الْجَنَّةَ هِيَ الْمَأْوَىٰ Feinnelcennete hiyel me’va. |
|
42. They ask thee about the Hour,-´When will be its appointed time? |
يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَاهَا Yes’eluneke ’anissa’ati eyyane mursaha. |
43. Wherein art thou (concerned) with the declaration thereof? |
فِيمَ أَنْتَ مِنْ ذِكْرَاهَا Fiyme ente min zikraha. |
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنْتَهَاهَا İla rabbike muntehaha. |
|
إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ مُنْذِرُ مَنْ يَخْشَاهَا İnnema ente munziru men yahşaha. |
|
كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوا إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَاهَا Keennehum yevme yerevneha lem yelbesu illa ’aşiyyeten ev duhaha. |
